Chital Fish (knifefish) Curry
Ingredients:
500 grams chital mach ( knifefish)(4 pieces)
4 tablespoon mustard oil
1 tomato chopped
3 green chili
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
2 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 cup water
Method:
Fish pieces with salt and turmeric powder
Cut tomato in small pieces and get the other ingredients ready.
Heat oil in Kadhai or pan. Fry the fish pieces and keep in a dish
In the hot oil add cumin seed, bay leaves and tomatoes
After approximately 2 minutes, add ginger paste, 2 green chili, cumin powder, salt and turmeric powder with one table spoon of water
Let it cook for 5 minutes. Add water (1and 1/2 cup).
Allow to boil for 2-3 minutes. Then add the fried fish pieces .
Allow to boil for approximately 2 mins and then add 1 green chili sliced and garam masala powder and mix. Add salt to taste.
Serve with hot rice
